Most patients benefit from 3–6 initial sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by annual maintenance. Post-transplant PRP is given as a single session 1–2 weeks after surgery to enhance graft survival.
Can PRP replace a hair transplant?+
No. PRP stimulates dormant follicles but cannot restore permanently dormant ones. At early stages PRP combined with Minoxidil can slow or partially reverse loss. Once follicles are permanently miniaturised, only a transplant restores them.
Is PRP painful?+
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied 30 minutes before injections. Most patients describe mild discomfort — 2–3 out of 10. The procedure is well-tolerated with no downtime.
Can I have PRP after my hair transplant?+
Yes — post-transplant PRP is one of the most effective applications. Applied 1–2 weeks after surgery it enhances blood supply to newly transplanted grafts and has been shown to improve graft survival rates.
