How different scalp types affect surgery
Oily scalp
Affects graft placement precision and slightly increases infection risk. Pre-op deep cleansing, post-op sebum-balancing serums.

Dry scalp
Reduced hydration affects skin elasticity and microcirculation. Pre-op hydration therapy recommended.
Sensitive scalp
Higher inflammatory response to trauma. Cooling gels, minimal-contact bandages. Recovery may take longer.
Seborrheic dermatitis
Active seborrheic dermatitis should be controlled before surgery. Active inflammation affects healing and may impair graft survival.
Scalp assessment at Hairmedico
Every patient receives pre-operative trichoscopy assessing follicular density, scalp hydration, microcirculation and underlying conditions. The surgical protocol adapts based on findings. This is what surgeon-led practice means in practice.
Psoriasis and hair transplant
Active scalp psoriasis must be stabilised before surgery - risk of Koebner phenomenon (trauma triggering new lesions). Once controlled for 6+ months, hair transplant is generally safe. Dr. Arslan coordinates with dermatologists for psoriasis patients. Hair Transplant Turkey | Dr. Arslan Musbeh
