Who needs 5,000 grafts?
A 5,000-graft session addresses Norwood V–VI hair loss — where the frontal recession and crown thinning have merged into a continuous large bald zone. This is a substantial procedure requiring strong donor density. Not all patients can receive 5,000 grafts safely in a single session — donor mapping at Hairmedico verifies whether sufficient density exists without over-extracting.

Realistic expectations
5,000 grafts in a large Norwood VI bald area will not produce the same density as the same number in a smaller Norwood IV area — because the recipient zone is larger. Density of 35–45 FU/cm² is achievable in a large bald zone. This looks natural and covers well, but it is not the same density as native hair. Patients must understand this before committing to a single large session.
Multi-session planning
For Norwood VI–VII, two sessions of 2,500–3,000 grafts spaced 12 months apart typically produce better distribution and density than a single 5,000-graft session. The Algorithmic FUE™ methodology at Hairmedico plans both sessions from the initial consultation — donor management, hairline design and density distribution are all mapped across the two planned procedures.
